Bill's Red Tailed Hawk

Bill Davis from NC Falconer’s Guide will have a red-tailed hawk on display and will describe how he works with this bird in the sport of falconry.

Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat will have fun make and take activities at their booth!  They will also provide information about their programs and camps.

Cresset Christian Academy, one of our sponsors, will be providing transportation during the Festival from the parking lot to the front gate to help cut down on traffic and make your experience a little better!  They will also have an informational booth about the Academy.

Earthfare will have a fun activity of make-your-own trail mix. It will be delicious and nutritious!

Green Energy Lawn care at the 2010 Festival

Green Energy Lawn Care will provide information on how homeowners can make a difference in reducing their carbon footprint and helping the environment while maintaining a naturally healthy, beautiful lawn.  They will have solar recharged equipment and truck solar panels on display.

NC Museum of Life and Sciencewill help you investigate how animals fit into their environments with adaptations such as fins, teeth, coloration and behavior through looking at mammal skulls, imitating bird beaks, and more.  In addition, they will be bringing LIVE animals including a red-eared slider, a Virginia opossum, and a ball python!

NC Museum of Natural Sciences will be represented by a group of junior curators who will bring four different LIVE animals to show and discuss!  The featured animal friends are a pine snake, a grey tree frog, a spotted salamander and a common snapping turtle!

Orange County Beekeepers Society will be bringing their bee cage with beautiful live honeybees!  They will also have a table with information about honeybees and describing the tasks of a ‘bee-ing’ a beekeeper.

Triangle Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic, a local rehabilitation center in Durham, NC, will have information about their rehabilitation center and may bring turtles from their clinic.

Umstead Coalition will be providing information about the plants, animals, and history of the beautiful William B. Umstead State Park through photos, brochures and interactive question sessions.

Griffin, the Black Vulture from Wildlife Rescue Center

Wildlife Rescue Center of Sanford, NC will be bringing LIVE raptors and turtles from their center!  At their booth, they will have information about wildlife rehabilitation and items for sale that advertise their wonderful organization.

Other groups include NC Herpetological Society, Carolina Tiger RescueChild Care Services Association, NC Green Power, Durham Parks and Rec Adventure Programs and Outdoor Education, Wild Birds Unlimited of Durham, and Twig!
