Earth Action Day at Chapel Hill – April 9th

Come see Piedmont Wildlife Center at Earth Action Day! Saturday April 9th, 12-5pm. Earth Action Day, presented by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation, is a celebration for sustainable living at Southern Community Park. The outdoor event will feature a host of interactive activities for all ages, live entertainment, and a great food pavilion, featuring local foods. PWC will be bringing its education animals for visitors to interact with and observe up close. And of course, the ever-popular Wildlife Wheel — spin it to answer wildlife trivia questions and receive various prizes!

5k Walk/Run/Bike at Umstead Park – April 16th

Over 350 participants will enjoy a great day on Park Trails, listening to great music, and enjoying children activities at Umstead Park’s 2011 Walk/Run/Bike, sponsored by the Umstead Coalition. Piedmont Wildlife Center will have a booth for participants to visit, with several education animals and information about PWC.

Earth Day at Twig – April 16th

Piedmont Wildlife Center will be at Twig as part of Twig’s month-long celebration of Earth Day, on Saturday April 16th from 11am-2pm. Our esteemed education animals will be with us, as well as the popular Wildlife Wheel — which you can spin to answer wildlife trivia questions and receive prizes! You’ll also be able to purchase PWC Store items like the improved mammal tracking kit, birdwatching kit, and “Know your wild neighbors” t-shirt.

Earth Day at Hillsborough Elementary School – April 30th

Piedmont Wildlife Center is excited to join Hillsborough Elementary School at their first Earth Day celebration.

Haw River Festival – May 7th

Piedmont Wildlife Center will have a booth at the 22nd Haw River Festival on May 7th in Saxapahaw. Come check us out! We’ll have various education animals with us, including Otus the Eastern screech owl, cornsnakes Kellogg & Jigsaw, rabbits Darla & Flora, Miracle the frizzled dove, and Boo Radley the red-tailed hawk.

Festival for the Eno July 2nd, 3rd, 4th

PWC will return to the Eno this year for another fantastic Festival. We’ll enjoy a gorgeous three days on the banks of the Eno at our booth, complete with education animals & raptors, informational materials, the Wildlife Trivia Wheel, and other fun activities.
